Universities & Hospitals Monetization
University and hospital operators can assess compatible Wi-Fi for eligible carrier offload without charging students or patients for access. Campus residence and public-area coverage differ from hospital visitor networks: each requires its own IT, security and network-ownership review before participation.
New to this model? See how Wi-Fi monetization works for venue owners.
An initial venue-fit review considers these requirements; no site is automatically eligible:
University campuses, dormitories, lecture halls, and hospital public areas
Consistent mobile device usage by students, staff, patients, and visitors
Extensive existing enterprise Wi-Fi networks
Under the current IDCTS program, qualifying venues receive a 50% share of eligible attributed offload revenue, subject to program terms and carrier approval, with no monetization program fees. Existing equipment may be usable after review; compatibility and earnings are not guaranteed. Optional managed Wi-Fi work is separate.
University residential and academic spaces differ from hospital visitor areas. Both require authorized network access and a site-specific plan for eligible subscriber traffic.
Campus IT can identify eligible common areas, residence coverage, student-network policies, peak academic traffic and spare backhaul before evaluating offload.
Hospital IT must review visitor Wi-Fi separately from clinical devices and protected systems, with security and change control appropriate to the facility. Clinical networks are not assumed available for offload.
Potentially. Campus IT must first confirm access-point capabilities, coverage, network authority, capacity and policies for those buildings; student connections are not automatically eligible traffic.
Clinical and medical-device networks are not assumed eligible. A hospital review starts with authorized visitor or public areas and requires IT approval of separation and security controls.
No guest charge is required for carrier-funded offload. Only supported subscribers on an approved network can generate eligible attributed offload revenue.

Could your existing Wi-Fi qualify for carrier-funded revenue? We’ll review your location, network details, and usage potential—at no cost.
Request an assessment for one venue or multiple locations. This is an initial fit review, not a security audit, carrier approval, or earnings guarantee.
Add one row per site and equipment group. Split mixed AP vendors or indoor/outdoor placement into separate rows. You can submit partial details for initial review.
