inert

/ɪˈnɜːrt/

adjective

Lacking the ability or tendency to move, act, or respond; remaining inactive unless acted upon by an outside influence.

Your Wi-Fi is already active. Its revenue potential may still be inert. IDCTS helps qualifying venues put that potential to work.

The Opportunity

The signal is already there. The revenue could be too.

How Businesses Are Getting Paid for Their Wi-Fi

An introduction to carrier-funded Wi-Fi offload

Open explainer video

Busy venues already carry the ingredients: strong Wi-Fi, meaningful foot traffic, and visitors who stay awhile. IDCTS brings those pieces together for carrier Wi-Fi offload.

When eligible supported devices move carrier data onto an approved venue network, participating carriers fund the offload. Your venue receives 50% of eligible attributed revenue—without charging guests and, in most compatible installations, without replacing existing access points.

How It Works

Four moves. One harder-working network.

Choose your venue type

Share venue, equipment, coverage, and traffic details. Launch depends on carrier approval, network compatibility, and site coordination.

Configure existing Wi-Fi

Most compatible installations keep existing access points and add a carrier-only SSID, separate from guest and corporate Wi-Fi. New APs are not the default.

Subscribers connect automatically

Eligible supported subscribers can connect through SIM authentication. Device, network, and carrier policies determine roaming; connections are not guaranteed.

Share offload revenue

Qualifying venues receive 50% of eligible attributed offload revenue. Payments are carrier-funded, with no visitor charge or earnings guarantee.

Program Details

Turn network capability into revenue.

IDCTS assesses qualifying venues for carrier offload. The monetization program has no upfront or ongoing fees, and the venue receives 50% of eligible offload revenue. Installation requirements and operational impact depend on the existing network and approved configuration.

Reported revenue includes source rounding and is not a per-AP rate or earnings guarantee.

Revenue Potential

Carrier traffic gets its own lane.

For compatible installations, a carrier-only SSID is logically separated from guest and corporate Wi-Fi when appropriately configured. It is not a replacement for or expansion of the venue’s guest network.

The exact configuration and any operational considerations depend on the venue’s existing equipment, network design, carrier approval, and technical review. Hardware isolation and zero operational impact are not assumed. Authentication, encryption, and client-isolation capabilities must be confirmed for the equipment and carrier configuration before activation.

Frequently asked.

What is a Complimentary Venue Assessment?

It is a no-cost initial review of your location, existing Wi-Fi, and usage potential to assess whether carrier-funded offload may be a fit. IDCTS reviews the information you provide and identifies next steps. It is not an instant approval, a full network or security audit, or a promise of revenue.

What details do I need to request an assessment?

Start with your contact details and what you know about the venue, its location, access-point equipment, and indoor or outdoor coverage. Partial submissions are welcome for initial review; additional equipment and network details may be needed before carrier submission or onboarding. You can include one venue or multiple locations.

What is carrier Wi-Fi offload?

It allows eligible supported mobile subscribers to use a qualified venue’s Wi-Fi for carrier data. On compatible installations, a carrier-only SSID is configured separately from guest and corporate Wi-Fi.

How does my venue earn money?

The venue receives monthly payments equal to 50% of eligible offload revenue attributed to the network carrying the traffic. Payments are funded by participating carriers, not charges to visitors.

Do we need new access points?

In most compatible installations, existing access points stay in place. New AP shipping is not the default, but a technical review may identify changes needed for compatibility or performance.

Is this a new guest Wi-Fi network?

No. It is a carrier-only SSID for eligible subscriber offload, logically separated from guest and corporate Wi-Fi when appropriately configured.

Which mobile subscribers can connect?

Eligible subscribers of participating carriers may connect automatically through supported SIM authentication and Passpoint profiles, without entering a guest Wi-Fi password. Carrier availability is confirmed for each approved installation. A carrier named in an industry presentation is not a guarantee of availability at your venue; device settings, coverage, and carrier policies also affect connections.

How much can we earn?

Earnings depend on eligible traffic, dwell time, network compatibility and performance, and carrier participation. More activity can create more potential offload and revenue, but no earnings level is guaranteed.

What does it cost?

There are no upfront or ongoing fees for the IDCTS monetization program. Optional mbbWiFi Managed WiFi assistance is a separate scope discussed during consultation.

Do the airport and train-station examples predict my earnings?

No. The supplied third-party presentation reports a Maryland airport with 242 existing APs, 74.79 TB of monthly offload, $31,817 in total monthly revenue, and a $15,909 monthly property share. It also reports a Brooklyn train station with one indoor AP, 7.47 TB of monthly offload, $3,200 in total monthly revenue, and a $1,600 monthly property share. These are not IDCTS-operated sites or independently audited results. Reporting months were not specified, and figures retain the source’s rounding. Neither example establishes a per-AP earnings rate or forecast.

Are the network growth and subscriber figures IDCTS totals?

No. The presentation reports offload growth from 88 TB to 576 TB between Q3 2024 and Q4 2025—rounded to 555%—alongside 124K+ active subscribers and reach across six carriers. These are historical third-party claims, not independently verified IDCTS network totals. The subscriber measurement date was not specified, and the carrier count does not establish current availability at an IDCTS venue.

Does more Wi-Fi equipment mean more revenue?

Not necessarily. Eligible data usage, passenger or visitor dwell time, coverage, spare internet capacity, and carrier participation matter alongside access-point count. A large installation does not automatically outperform a smaller, well-used location. Each venue needs its own assessment.

How is offload traffic separated from our operations?

The technical review considers a dedicated carrier SSID, logical separation from guest and business networks, and client isolation to restrict device-to-device communication. Supported Passpoint, WPA3-Enterprise, and RadSec (RADIUS over TLS) capabilities must be confirmed for the equipment and carrier configuration. Existing Wi-Fi is not assumed to provide physical isolation, zero risk, or zero operational impact.

How quickly can a location launch?

Timing depends on carrier approval, equipment compatibility, access to the network administrator, and configuration and validation requirements. Coordinate changes with venue IT and schedule work around operating needs, including off-peak hours where appropriate. A short configuration window in a third-party example is not an IDCTS installation-time guarantee.

What terms should we confirm before activation?

Review the applicable agreement before proceeding, including revenue eligibility and attribution, reporting and payment timing, responsibilities, and any termination or restoration provisions. An assessment request is not an activation agreement. Terms described in an external presentation should not be treated as IDCTS contractual commitments.

What types of venues are a good fit?

Potential fits include airports, train stations and transit hubs, universities, hotels, shopping centers and food courts, high-rises, and restaurant or franchise locations. Consistent visitors, time spent on site, reliable coverage, and sufficient internet capacity matter more than the venue label alone.

Does managed WiFi make my venue eligible?

No. mbbWiFi Managed WiFi is optional and separately scoped. Planning, upgrading, or managing a network does not guarantee monetization eligibility, carrier approval, traffic, or revenue.

How do we get started?

Choose your venue type and select Request My Assessment. Share your contact, location, and network details, then submit the request for IDCTS review. Your confirmation means the request was received—not that the venue has carrier approval. IDCTS reviews the information before outlining next steps.
